|Stanton Guards, Company A (Wormer’s)

Born about 1835 or 1836 in Sodus, Wayne County, New York to Mary [Mercy] M. and John W. Delling and brother of Hamlin Delling, at age 26 William Delling enlisted as a private in Wormer’s Company (Company A) of the Stanton Guards, Michigan Infantry. Before the war (1860) William Delling worked as a farm laborer for the Charles J. Collins family. He survived the war and was mustered out of the Stanton Guards on Sept. 25, 1862 in Detroit, MI.
