John C Hollingshead

Born about Aug.10, 1838 in St. Vincent, Grey County, Canada West (Ontario) to John and Mary Hollingshead, John C. Hollingshead had just turned 24
years old when he enlisted in Pontiac, MI on August 11, 1862 as a private in the 22 MI Infantry, Company A. At the time of his enlistment John was working as a farm laborer and living with his brother Samuel Hollingshead, Samuel’s wife, Olive and their daughter, Paulina in Bloomfield Twp., MI. On March 8, 1863 Hollingshead died of disease at Lexington, KY at age 24 years 6 months and 28 days. He is buried in the Franklin Cemetery, Franklin Village, MI.
