Hamlin Delling

Stanton Guards, Company A (Wormer’s) and 10th MI Cavalry 

(1844 –  )

     Born about 1844 in Sodus, Wayne County, New York to Mary [Mercy] M. and John W. Delling, on May 8, 1862 Hamlin Delling enlisted as a private in Wormer’s Company (Company A) of the Stanton Guards, Michigan Infantry from his parents’ home in Franklin, MI.  He was joined a week later by his brother William Delling.  The Stanton Guards duty post was at the Fort on Mackinac Island, MI.  He was mustered out in Detroit on September 25, 1862.  On September 18, 1863 Delling re-enlisted in the 10th MI Cavalry, Company D as a Corporal.  He was mustered out of this unit in Detroit, MI on Nov. 1, 1865. He survived the war.
